CBA-East Midlands is an autonomous local group under the umbrella of the national Council for British Archaeology body. Ever since the 1940s we have promoted archaeology across the East Midlands.
We cover five counties — Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland. We are an educational charity working to involve people in archaeology and to promote the appreciation and care of the historic environment for the benefit of the present and future generation.
We hold several conferences throughout the year and also arrange summer visits to historical and archaeological sites in the region. A few examples of past events are shown below.

The Boundary project was born out of a desire by our members to be involved in practical research of the history and archaeology of the East Midlands. Anyone interested in history or archaeology can take part. Membership of CBA East Midlands is not a requirement.
